Dehydra Super Compact Food Waste Dewaterer

Our smallest food waste dewatering system

The Dehydra Super Compact Dewaterer is the ideal piece of equipment for organisations seeking maximum food waste reduction with minimum footprint. All the Dehydra technology is neatly packed inside a mini unit measuring only 1.0m wide by 0.7 deep.

This model can reduce the volume of food waste by up to 80% and its weight by 50%, and can process up to 700kgs of food waste per hour. This makes it an ideal machine for use in spatially limited commercial kitchens generating high quantities of food waste.

Clients worldwide – across the hospitality, education, prison, marine and oil and gas sectors – utilise the unit not only to save money in off-site disposal costs but also decrease their carbon footprint.

How does the Super Compact food waste dewatering system work?

Operatives feed the food waste into the hopper – where it is ground into small particles by the food waste disposer (FWD). The resulting material is then pumped from the FWD into the hydro-extractor – where an auger and 1.5mm-holed fine-mesh screen separate the liquid from the ground food waste.

This process ensures that all ‘grey water’ is fed directly into the drain, while the solids are captured effectively.

Once the food waste has been successfully removed, the system automatically self-cleans the hydro-extractor screen, ensuring that no blockages occur, and the dewatering efficiency is maintained – minimising operator input.

This model features an intelligent sensor which detects when the food waste collection caddy is becoming full and auto-stops before it overflows. The new design also incorporates a much quieter macerator and pump, which when compared to similar systems, is 10db quieter, ideal for open kitchen formats. The unit is equipped with magnetic cutlery saver as standard, and a new PLC touch screen gives the operator a much more intuitive display of the process
